Hello

"When hysteria is deliberately and systematically cultivated and fomented by a governing party, it can be relied upon to get worse and worse, to spread and deepen. Recent examples are Hitler's anti-semetic hysteria and present-day drug hysteria. The remedy is simple-a calm, objective, commonsense approach.

My advice to the youth is: Just Say No to Drug Hysteria!"

-William S. Burroughs

This blog was created with the intent not to condone the use of drugs, but rather to encrouage a rational approach to them. For the past few decades there has been an ongoing "War on Drugs" aimed at criminalizing and abolishing the use of a selection of biologically active substances. The government funded War on Drugs has received extensive media attention and continues to do so increasingly. Billions of dollars a year are spent trying to limit the access of these drugs to the general population (http://www.drugsense.org/wodclock.htm). The problem with this war however, is that it is simply not working. In recent years, drug use has not decreased, but instead increased and it continues to do so with no end in sight. With so much information being circulated about these drugs, much of it wrong, I thought it would be appropriate to create a database of reliable knowledge on the subject. Knowledge is our greatest ally, and it is a pity to see judicial laws being passed and enforced because of blatant lies and hollow facts. Hiding the truth or refusing to look at it are not acceptable options. Ignorance leads to hysteria and hysteria never leads to anything good. Hopefully this blog will help at least a few people see things in a different, more rational light.
